It isn't so much about what he hasn't told her, but what she does know now. How she had been alone for a long, long time. How even underneath all her laughter and smiles, there's a loneliness there. In time, Tifa knows that she will learn more, and while that has no bearing on anything at all, she understands all too well too where that sort of loneliness comes from.
It's that thought that she falls asleep with, and she dreams instead of a small, empty steamed bun stall tucked away in Midgar's busy, crowded undercity...]
