[And her right eye crinkles shut this time, her laughter growing more genuine before she leans him and pecks him on his right cheek, too. She pulls back, stares at him thoughtfully, and cants her head.]
[So, so close, and she chases after him when he brushes her lips with his, only for her to groan quietly when he moves away. But there's a fluttery, soft feeling that settles into her chest, her body and the room still growing warmer.
How badly she wants to simply grab him by his face and draw him back up so that she can get that kiss that she's been wanting, but that would give him the satisfaction of "winning" this little "game".
Plus, this is the lightest she's felt in a few days and she wants to draw it out, make it last before they have to close their eyes again and risk the nightmares.
Her eyes flutter open and she peers down at him, her lip catching between her teeth.]
Try that first spot again. Think you might've had something there.
[She was trying to keep it chaste, but the moment his lips find her neck, she can't help the soft little sound that escapes her, the touch more needed than she thought it would be, that little spark of intimacy making the heat surge around them and within her.]
... Well, now I'm not so sure. Might wanna try that again.
[Another graze of his teeth before they sink in deeper, that sharper canine of his digging into her skin as his lips wrap and suck around it.
He certainly had intended to just start playful, try and lighten her mood. Nor is he intending for this to go further than this since neither are really there for it, but... He doesn't like how cold she had been feeling, doesn't like how distant and insecure she had been. Nor did he like his own inability to immediately fix all that.
But if there's one thing he does know that will work well, it's this. Their physical and emotional intimacy, the warmth that immediately spreads and how it quickens her pulse that he can feel beneath his lips.]
[She doesn't mean for his name to stutter out of her the way that it does, but his mouth knows all the right ways and places to strike to make her body react like this. It's a quiet whisper in his ear, heavy with affection, and her hand finds his hair to tangle her fingers through it.
Because as much as she understands that they shouldn't, it's their intimacy that she needs. Whether it's his lips or his hands or any part of him, the quickest way to chase way the cold and those insecurities? It's this. Knowing that he still accepts and loves her in spite of them is the fastest way to carve a path back to her heart and close that distance—however big or small—between them.]
Mm-hm... you're right. That was nice, but...
[It's with a small, breathy, still playful laugh that she tips her head back, allowing him a heartbeat of space for him to roam before she's chasing after him, her lips seeking his for a proper kiss. No, she doesn't want to wait any longer.]
[There's a low, quiet laugh as he lets her chase him before he finally rewards her with that kiss. However, despite the build up, it's a soft, gentle one, his arm around her pulling her closer as his other hand threads through her hair. He can taste that growing warmth, love, and need, and he can also feel all of that spreading through him as well. That pleasant buzz that he treasures and relishes so much.
[She hopes that he can feel that effect that he always has on her, between the smile that interrupts the kiss or the genuine tenderness that she pours into it, or the warmth that bleeds into both of them, she hopes that he knows just how much she needed this and cherishes it... just like every other quiet moment that they share with each other.]
Much...
[A soft whisper against his lips when he pulls back, but her long lashes flutter when she opens her eyes to look at him.]
[He takes another kiss, lips lingering and rubbing gently against hers before he pulls back so he can pull her into a deeper embrace once more, his face burying into her neck.]
[She pulls him into that embrace, her hand cradling the back of his head as she buries her face into his hair, nuzzling it.]
Just... stay like this for a little while?
[There's a lot more to her request than what she voice aloud, but the way that she holds him hopefully makes it clear. Stay like this until she's ready to let him go... their journey back into Orkili can wait.]
[At least for now, she thinks. They can worry about it tomorrow when they wake up, and while she wants to help Jack and the Queen, she wants to help Eustace more. At the end of the day, he is what matters the most to her—everything else can and has to wait.]
Then we'll worry about everything else later.
[She shifts in his arms, searching for their blanket so that she can drape it over them and move back where she belongs, tucked safely against him.]
[She agrees. On both counts. She doesn't want to sleep either, but she knows that they should. Still, it won't stop her from leaning in to kiss him again.]
If there's something I can do to help keep them away, then... tell me.
[That much she can handle. She wants more, needs more, but she won't ask it of him now. Perhaps later, after they wake up and are more rested will she say so. For now, she presses herself to him so that not only can he feel the warmth of her dreamotion, but of her, too... and she can feel his.
His, that still remains that strong pillar for her in times like this. His, that chases away all of her worries, even for a time. His, that she loves and cherishes so very much. So much that the terror of it all going away at a moment's notice is what will push her forward in the days to come.
She wraps her arms and legs around his, locking them together as she buries herself in his chest.]
[He'll keep her locked in close, and he'll exchange one last kiss with her before he gently strokes her back and hair, wanting to remember the feeling of her warmth and body so that should he sleep and dream, he'll be able to remember it and be reminded again of what he has here and who he is fighting so hard for.
And although it will take some time for him—and probably her—he will eventually fall asleep.
There... It's not a dreamless one, but it's at least calm. Again he briefly faces that "other self" of his, but all he does is smirk and disappears again before his subconscious drifts into a normal sleep cycle. And due to all the exhaustion mentally, physically, and emotionally, he'll be in a deep, heavy sleep even past morning.
But at the very least, when he awakens he'll feel more stabilized and no longer feel as if something is trying to crawl into his own skin and take over. Yet, he also doesn't feel it's completely gone. More like a lurking shadow, something there that's not quite his. It leaves him wondering, and he'll make the decision to contact 76. At the very least, it would be good to have someone else other than Tifa know about his condition.
...But that will be later. For now, he just wants to be with his wife, his family, and take the much needed rest. At the very least that well help defend him for whatever is happening with him now...]

[Right cheek.]

Hmm. Didn't feel right, did it?
no subject
[And now a peck on the left.]
Here?
no subject
Mm. Something still feels off.
[And she gives a little tap to his forehead with a warm glint in her eyes, the reflection of the starflowers on the ceiling shimmering in them.]
Try right here.
no subject
[He looks her with some suspicion, but he'll do as she suggests.]
Here?
[A kiss to her forehead.]
no subject
No. That didn't hit the spot either. ... Maybe we can't find it after all.
no subject
[A light gleam in his eyes as his voice deepens a pitch.]
Should I try lower...?
[And his lips will brush gently over hers...
...
Before going to her chin.]

Down here seems more interesting...
[A light nip followed by a kiss.]

Better?

Much...

[okay, well, there could but]
no subject
You know what I mean, Eustace.
[And now she will tell him, just in case he doesn't:]
Can Orkili wait?
no subject
...It can.
[He hesitated for only a moment, in part because he is still worried about her. But he also knows that it would do them no good to rush into things.]
We'll just stay home.

Then we'll worry about everything else later.

But we should, we still need the rest.

So long as I can feel your warmth, I'll be fine.

Get some rest.
