[Oh no, her face is so red now it feels like it might actually pop like one of the many red bubbles that start to block their lines of vision between each other—]

What about them is unusual...?

Well...

[Just a drawn out voice as he watches those red hearts appear again.]

I've noticed a pattern about these hearts.

[starshower]

Yeah, me too.

[Her pout is distorted by one of the larger bubbles that comes up between them.]

Every time you say something to me, they appear. Which means... this is your fault.

So I shouldn't talk at all?

[starshower]

[Biting into her crepe, trying to be as defiant as ever, but it's hardly working without a defiant bone in her body when it comes to him.]

I didn't say that. [She glances at him through the corner of her eye.] Why, is that the "pattern"?

[flamekthunder]

Not sure... Should we try?

[A playful gleam because they both know how well he can be silent.]

[starshower]

Fine. Let's. I'll show you.

[Is she calling his bluff? Absolutely. Bring it on, she says, as she already is taking a big bite of her crepe.]

[And he'll just smile and not say anything, just resuming to eat his own share.

But as he brings his lips to his coffee, his eyes will lift towards her, a familiar gleam in them as he slowly sips before looking away to set it down and reach over to take one of the bonus pastries they received.]

[She's in the middle of chewing on her crepe when his eyes catch hers, and she's forced to hide behind her tea again as she feels her face warm up the way it always does under that intense stare of his. Always so intense... always so blue, especially with the way that the sun is shining...

And out from her tea comes a red bubble that pops when it reaches her nose, making her blink and startling her.

But she isn't going to lose this fight!!!

So, she reaches across him, her hand brushing against his chest as she tries to grab hold of the apple crepe on his other side so that she can give it a try...]

[It only works when one is subtle, and as he watches her, he's going to reach for that apple crepe right before she reaches it and hands it to her.

With a sweet smile.]

[starshower]

[He may be handing it to her, but she isn't going to take it. Not with her fingers anyway.

Instead, she leans in, cheeks flushed, and bites into the crepe while he holds it for her.

Ignoring the red bubbles that fill the space behind her like a backdrop, and the amount of effort it's taking to not move her eyes from his...]

[He'll just continue to hold it, his own gaze never wavering as he continues to stare at her, only gently pushing it against her lips when it looks like she's finished chewing.

And yet.

There are still no red hearts in his end???

What could he possibly be thinking...]

[starshower]

[There are certainly no red hearts on his end, which doesn't make her any less suspicious that it's him playing tricks on her. And as he presses the crepe against her lips again, there are more of those bubbles—so many now that they have started to push her towards him, Tifa sliding in her chair enough that she gets a smear of icing sugar on her nose when she hits the crepe.

There's just a small, surprised, uncomfortable sound when she does, but other than that, she says nothing and takes another bite of the crepe, making sure to get a little slice of apple this time. Maybe a bit of whipped cream on her lips that she gently licks away.

And yet, it is her face that turns redder. Her skin that burns. Her head that wanders as she wishes to herself that he would be the one to get it off her lips instead. Her hearts that make her chair squeak against the floor as they move her ever closer to him still...

Yeah, she's fighting a losing battle.]

[In fairness, Eustace is actually concentrating quite a bit to not think of anything more, his eyes momentarily lingering on her lips. And she is cute, really, so the pink hearts will continue to pop up in a more controlled pace compared to hers.

And he is going to be a little mean by slowly moving the crepe around her lips, smearing more of the cream and filling around it.]

[starshower]

[It's just a complete mess of pink and red hearts now, and they nudge her closer. She ends up with a faceful of cream on her lips and nose before they completely surround her. So surrounded that Eustace will hardly be able to see her through the stream of them as they keep coming and coming and coming—

WHEN WILL SHE GIVE UP]

[Only when she's completely engulfed does he pull the crepe away and turn to quietly laugh because this is hilarious. Cute, but hilarious.]

[starshower]

[Can he hear her calling out to him among her little sea of bubbles!?]

Stop laughing!

[BECAUSE IT JUST MAKES IT WORSE. HE'S TOO CUTE WHEN HE LAUGHS.]

Alright, you win!

[Is that what he wanted to hear!?!?]

[Maybe.]

So it's not just the talking.

[starshower]

I don't know what it is... or maybe it's everything.

[No, it's definitely everything.

But please help your wife, Eustace......]

[flamekthunder]

[Okay, he will help his wife.]

Hm... Should we try this next?

[And he will push into the hearts enveloping her and suddenly kiss her firmly against her lips, tongue swiping over first her lower then upper before pushing in.

And that will definitely make a lot more red hearts appear to completely screen them.]

[starshower]

Huh—!?

[She barely gets to work through her confusion before he's pushing past this barrier of bubbles and pressing his lips to hers. He'll get the sweet taste of the cream and strawberries and her the tart apples as his tongue seeks her out. She can't help but keen quietly, a soft, pleased sound at finally getting a proper kiss. He makes it so easy to forget where they are in the moment, or that they are completely surrounded by bright red bubbles.

Bubbles that shine in Tifa's eyes when she blinks them open. Bubbles that are as red as her cheeks are.]

That...worked...

[Worked so well that she doesn't even notice them at first.]

[flamekthunder]

Hmm, as I thought.

[His voice is low against her lips, a low hum as he lets his teeth graze against her soft skin as his eyes catch hers.]

They turn red when you're feeling more lustful.

[Smirk.]

[starshower]

[Several of those bubbles pop, as if his words were the darts that shot right through them, and they explode into a burst of tiny red stars around them, like glitter that fades. And that's when she notices how they are utterly and completely surrounded in them, their table blocked off from the rest of the café. It's a good thing that she chose one near the back corner or else they'd have a lot more people staring than the giggling couple that sits at the one near them.

Not that she notices them, either. She's only just registering that all of the bubbles are red, and what they are for.]

You knew all this time!?

[She smacks a hand against his chest at that smirk.]

[Just a small chuckle.]

Tifa, we've lived in this world for how many years? It's obvious they were reflecting your emotions, and even I know what red hearts tend to mean this time of year.

[starshower]

But—

[Now she's just blushing as her arms wrap around his shoulders, and she buries her face in his chest.]

Maybe it was different! And you don't exactly make it easy, you know!
